Project Abstract
Thanks to EU financial support through the
LIFE-Nature
program the project Measures to ensure the nature conservation management
of Teici Area (Nr. LIFE2000NAT/LV/007127) are started. The project is
carried out by the Administration of Teici Nature Reserve as beneficary and
main implementing body and based on the nature
conservation plans for the Teici Nature Reserve and Krustkalni Nature
Reserve, approved by the Ministry for Environment of Latvia at 1999 and 2000
accordingly. The main objectives of this project is
preserving and restoring the nature conservation values of the
Teici Area with the EU and national importance. Within the frame of the
project, the number of habitat maintenance and restoration
activities should be implemented between October 2001 and December 2004,
with the aim of conserving and protecting the nature values of Teici Area.
Important part of the project is development of the infrastructure and
opportunities for the environmental awareness-rising to gain support from
local society and disseminate project Main
actions.
