Visitors information
The Teichi and Krustkalni reserves are specially protected nature areas with a strict protection regime. All the economic activities are prohibited, and also visitor access to the areas is limited. There is an information centre in the main administrative building where the general information can be obtained about the main tasks, objectives of the reserve and the nature values, being conserved.
For visitors having true education or scientific interests, we offer an opportunity to visit the Teichi and Krustkalni Nature Reserves.
Main themes covered during the visit to the reserves include:
* Nature conservation in the Teichi and Krustkalni Nature Reserves (what is being protected and why?)
- spectrum of protected biotopes, their significance,
- measures to ensure nature conservation and management of the territories
* The Krustkalni Nature Reserve:
- the geomorphology and terrain of the Krustkalni,
- water bodies and holy springs - their significance,
- wildlife in the reserve (rare and typical species of plants, animals, insects and birds)
Duration of the tour is up to 2 hours.
* The Teichi nature reserve:
- various types of mire and their formation
- the surface and composition of bog
- the hydrological regime of the bog (formation of lakes and quaking mires)
- wildlife of the bog (rare and typical species of plants, animals, insects and birds)
Duration of this tour is up to 4 hours.
The reserves can only be visited under the supervision of an employee of the Administration of Teichi Nature Reserve. Please note that the visiting group cannot exceed 15 people. Please make a reservation for your visit at least 3 days in advance of the intended visit by phone or e-mail:
